CHELMSFORD GREY

One of our granite types is Chelmsford. Chelmsford Grey is a light grey stone of fine to medium grain, highlighted by small black flakes. On a large scale project this stone exhibits surprising subtle movement. It is a quiet stone of enduring beauty and strength that has been use in major building and civil projects including more recently the Federal Judicial Building and the National Cathedral in Washington, DC. Fletcher Granite’s Chelmsford Grey Quarry comprising approximately 140 acres located off route 40 in Westford, Massachusetts has been in uninterrupted operation by Fletcher Granite since 1881. Today it is recognized across the nation for its achievements in wasteless extraction of dimension stone.

KITLEDGE GREY

Kitledge Grey is a fine to medium grained salt and pepper colored stone. Its uniform graining and excellent workability make it a popular stone for almost any application. Fletcher Granite’s Kitledge Grey quarry, located approximately 80 acres off Armory Road in Milford, New Hampshire has been in continuous operation since the early 1900’s and was acquired by Fletcher Granite in 1992.

TAPESTRY

Tapestry is a highly variegated granite containing grey, pink, purple and black colors in swirling and irregular patterns. It is a unique stone with infinite variations. Tapestry is an elegant stone where flecks of silver and gold seem to sparkle against subtle tones on beige and gray. It is as strong as it is beautiful and is one of the few building granites that retains its color when flame finished. Tapestry is an exceptional building stone. Its color and random pattern allow architects a great measure of aesthetic flexibility. Fletcher Granite’s Tapestry quarry is located on approximately 80 acres in Milford, New Hampshire. This property has been operating as a quarry since the early 1900’s and was acquired by Fletcher Granite in 1992.

MASON

Mason is a finely grained stone of medium buff grey, with black mica sprinkled across its surface in a compact, even pattern. Mason is a majestic stone. With its small scale and warm tones, Mason may call to mind the texture of a Shetland tweed. Mason granite has been chosen for important buildings including many of the buildings on the campus of the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, and the German History Museum in Berlin, Germany. Fletcher Granite’s Mason quarry located on approximately 218 acres off Starch Road in Mason, New Hampshire began production in the 1880’s and was acquired by Fletcher Granite in 1929.

ADDISON BLACK

Addison Black is a fine to medium textured black stone uniformly mottled with a little white. It takes a high polish (the cut surface is almost white) providing high contrast. It is one of the oldest black granites quarried in North America, first quarried more than one hundred thirty years ago and represented in numerous monuments and buildings throughout North America. Addison Black is an excellent stone for projects where a black or dark motif is sought and /or for accent as well as for polished thin slab and tile applications. The Addison Black quarry is located on approximately 600 acres off Basin Road in Addison, Maine.

DEER ISLE ™

Deer Isle ™ is a lavender and buff-colored stone with tones ranging from pale to deep. Large spots of widely spaced grey and cream highlight its medium to coarse grain. Small flecks of black mica appear throughout the stone. With its subtle color and pattern, yet pronounced grain, Deer Isle™ has a quiet presence. Fletcher Granite’s Deer Isle quarry is located in Stonington, Maine where Deer Isle™ granite has been quarried for over one hundred years. Deer Isle™ granite that was quarried during the late 1800’s through today can be seen throughout Boston, New York, Philadelphia, and Washington, D.C. as well as in other major eastern metropolitan areas.

MADISON

Madison, also known as Conway Pink, is a granite with many lively contrasts. A muted coral stands out against fields of medium to dark grays that occurs in broad, sharp-edged groupings. Occasional flecks of jet black mica add a dramatic accent. Its distinctive coloring, grain and pattern make it an elegant and striking stone. Fletcher Granite’s Madison quarry located on approximately 150 acres off Route #16 in Madison, New Hampshire just southwest of Conway was first quarried in 1888 and was acquired by Fletcher Granite in 1948.

MILFORD PINK

Milford Pink is considered one of the great granites of North America because of its impressive character, particularly when used in large areas. It has a subtle color clearly evident in its finished surface. In the rough state it is the pink shades to a warm light grey that distinguishes Milford Pink from the more typical grey stock. The stone is flecked with black mica in a wide and irregular pattern. It has been used for over one- hundred-thirty years on projects ranging from the Boston Public Library in the 1870’s to the Singapore International Airport in 2002. Fletcher Granite’s Milford Pink quarry in Hopkinton, Massachusetts has been in operation since 1984 and was acquired by Fletcher Granite in 1994.

SILVER CLOUD IMPERIAL ™

Silver Cloud Imperial ™ is a medium to fine grain light material with a variegated, swirling pattern well describes by the Silver Cloud name. The black swirling lines give a feeling of fluent movement. Small quartz particles are specked throughout the material reflecting light from all angles. Fletcher Granite’s Silver Cloud quarry is located on twenty-nine acres off Georgia Highway #20 in Conyers, Georgia. Silver Cloud is widely used in thin slab form for counter tops and tile in both Europe and North America as well as distinctive building facades and interiors worldwide.
